Our recent online Conference focused on events of Holy Week. We thought we’d share some of the reflections from it, for those who were unable to join us on the day.
Blessings at Holy Week.

Palm Sunday (Anthea):
Jesus walked ahead of His disciples, He knew He was going to Jerusalem.
He goes ahead of us; we can trust Him.

Gethsemane (Marylin):
Jesus’ agony as He faced what lay ahead.
His obedience even to death.
He did it all for us.

Road to Calvary (Mary):
Jesus is condemned to death.
Jesus is assisted. in carrying the cross, by Simon of Cyrene.
Jesus meets to women of Jerusalem.
Jesus is nailed to the Cross.
Jesus dies on the Cross.
Jesus is laid in the tomb.
Darkness covered the land.

Eastertime Poem (Pam Butler):

Easter isn’t eggs and bunnies.

Easter’s not a chocolate fest.

It’s not a decorated bonnet,

or dressing up in Sunday best.

The reason’s much more personal.

Christ didn’t come for power or fame.

He had the highest purpose ever,

and here’s the reason Jesus came.

For the joy that was before Him

Jesus Christ went to the cross.

Died for me to bring me freedom.

Now I count all things but loss.

He is all my hope and glory.

Words cannot express my praise.

He alone deserves my worship.

I will love Him all my days.

Now my joy is all in Jesus.

He has given life to me.

Paid the price for my salvation,

loosed the bonds and set me free.

Free to follow in His footsteps,

wheresoever He may lead.

In His strength I shall not falter,

In His love I shall succeed.

Empty Tomb (Emily):

We can trust in His promises.
He cares,
He’s Alive!

‘Resurrection Hope’ Poem by Tracy, (written on the death of her mother, February 2023):

Pain upon pain,

Beauty stripped away

Frailty unending

Gasping breaths.

I gaze into those unseeing eyes,

Hear the last sigh of their breath.

And in that moment, my loved one is gone.

Death has wrapped its black cloak,

Stealing away the Love I’ve always known.

Death seems so final, so bleak.

But where O death is your sting?

Where is your victory?

For even as that frail body fades

And breaths cease.

Even as their familiar form stills and eyes close,

Their new life begins.

As you, Jesus, come to take them home.

Your gift to us O Lord

The most beautiful gift that could ever be,

Resurrection hope

For Lord, as you willingly died,

You broke death’s grip and ended its reign.

Death could not hold you,

You burst from the grave,

Radiant in glory and awesome power,

Lovingly you handed us that beautiful gift.

Everlasting life; eternity with you.

Light and glory

Wonder and joy.

A divine dance of love.

Frailty is transformed into immortality.

Pain not even a memory.

You wipe away every tear,

For you are risen

And as we trust in you,

Our own dying and

The passing of those we love,

Simply becomes the doorway,

To a glorious new day.

Incomprehensible

Incomprehensible

Incomprehensible how can it be

That You O Lord should shed Your blood for me?

Your own sacrifice, You paid all my price

So I can come into Your presence for all time

You did it all, for there was nothing I could do

You did it all, I’m giving all my praise and thanks to You

You did it all, You promise now to see me through

If I’ll believe and put my trust, my trust in You

(Repeat then to end) You did it all (x3)

(sung by Ann):

‘He did it all’

He is not here; he has risen, just as he said….
Matthew 28:6a
